Ally Wilson re-signs with Perth Lynx for 2025–26 after standout WNBL and international campaigns.

  • Wilson has been starring for the Gangurrus in 3x3 for Australia
  • She is currently with the Opals preparing for the Asia Cup

The Perth Lynx has confirmed star Australian Opals guard Ally Wilson will return to the club for the 2025–26 WNBL season.

"I’m excited to be back at Perth," Wilson said.

"I felt like I thrived in the system last year and really enjoyed playing basketball.

"I’m keen to be back playing under Ryan and hopefully bring my experience and leadership to bring a championship back to Perth.”

Wilson, 31, joined the Lynx for the 2024–25 campaign, where she recorded career-best numbers in scoring and rebounding.

She averaged 14.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game across the regular season, ranking sixth in the league for total assists (96) and earning selection in the All-WNBL First Team.

Since her WNBL debut in 2010 with the Adelaide Lightning, Wilson has played with several clubs across the league, winning championships with both the Townsville Fire and Sydney Uni Flames. She was named WNBL Rookie of the Year in 2013–14 and signed a training camp contract with the WNBA’s Chicago Sky earlier this year.

Wilson has also maintained a strong presence for Australia, representing in both five-on-five and 3x3 formats, including appearances at multiple FIBA 3x3 Asia and World Cups. In 2024 and 2025, she was named tournament MVP at consecutive Asia Cups, helping lead the Gangurrus to back-to-back gold medals.

She was also part of the bronze-medal-winning team at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and represented Australia in the country’s inaugural Olympic women’s 3x3 team at Paris 2024, finishing fifth.

Wilson is in China as a member of the Australian Opals team competing at the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup in Shenzhen, running from 13 to 20 July.

Lynx head coach Ryan Petrik said the club was pleased to secure Wilson’s return.

“As we’ve said before, Ally was someone we really admired from afar for years, and always thought could go to another level inside our system,” Petrik said.

“To see her gain All-WNBL First Team selection, be in the MVP conversation, and become our Team MVP in year one at the club is a testament to her hard work and dedication to her craft.

"I can’t wait to coach her again, and see what heights she can reach in year two.”

Wilson joins Alex Ciabattoni, Steph Gorman, Anneli Maley and Kiara Waite on the Lynx roster for the 2025–26 WNBL season.
