Taryn Bond named MVP, Aussies claim major awards at BWB Asia ahead of Rising Stars Invitational.

Australian talent made a powerful impression at this year’s Basketball Without Borders Asia in Singapore, with standout performances and well-earned recognition on the final day of the elite NBA and FIBA camp.

Taryn Bond was named Girls Camp MVP, capping off a phenomenal week with 12 points in the championship game to help lead the Valkyries to a thrilling 16–15 victory over the Phoenix Mercury. Bond also took home the title of Three-Point Shootout Champion, confirming her reputation as one of the top young shooters in the region.

"It’s just been an unreal experience to compete against the best in Asia," Bond shared. "One of the highlights was probably winning the championship with my team. We just played so well together and fought hard to the end."

Australia also took home both Patrick Baumann Sportsmanship Awards, with Koby Moir and Cheyenne Bobongie recognised for their leadership, attitude and teamwork throughout the camp.

Fellow Australian Harry Cook earned selection to the prestigious BWB Asia All-Star Team, acknowledging his elite performance across the week. “I’ve learnt to keep a cool head… just knowing that you belong here and to play the way you know how to play,” Cook said. “Being on the All-Star team is a great feeling, I really cherish that.”

The 15th edition of BWB Asia forms part of the NBA’s new multi-day basketball and entertainment festival in Singapore, which continues this week with the NBA Rising Stars Invitational, featuring the best high school talent from 11 Asia-Pacific nations, streaming live and free on Basketball.com.au.
